“Do you have a manager yet?”
In opera, we’re often led to believe that management is the Holy Grail, the sign that you’ve “made it” as a singer.
Yet, we’re all mystified by the process: How do you get a manager? What does a manager do? How do you know when you’re ready for management?
Today we sit down with Justin Werner and Zoey Preston of Stratagem Artists, who pull back the curtain with honest, realistic answers to our questions. They share insight on what good management should look like, why sometimes having a manager can be a bad thing, and offer suggestions on how artists can manage themselves and take their career to the next level.
