Opera Diaries, Part 1: Chantal Freeman on Finding Validation

Today we begin a new mini-series on the podcast, Opera Diaries, in which we will share first-person accounts from individual artists about their journeys, both professional and personal, in the operatic industry.

Our first story comes from soprano Chantal Freeman, who shares with us her path as it relates to validation. Validation is a tricky thing in this business, and Chantal speaks honestly and eloquently to how she has moved through different stages of dealing with it in the context of her academic and operatic career. Her story is uplifting and her message is one that should be shared with every person working in a creative field.

Our podcast has always been about searching for honest truths and finding the courage to share them so that our community can be inspired and feel empowered in their artistic journeys. We are excited and grateful to be able to amplify these stories and voices, and if you have a story you would like to share (even anonymously), please reach out to us at info@mysocalledoperalife.com

As always, a big thank you goes to our Season 2 sponsors, The Sparkle Twins! Their custom face masks for singers are BACK IN STOCK, so be sure to order one today, and stay healthy in style!
